What passes through VideoMatch when you open a video chat in your browser, why we need it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
Effective
Who this covers
This policy applies to everyone who opens videomatch.fun, whether you only look at the homepage, start a match as a guest, or buy coins or VIP. It explains what information passes through VideoMatch and what we do with it.
If you keep using the site after reading this, you are accepting the practices described here. If you do not accept them, please stop using VideoMatch.
The information, item by item
Some of this you hand to us. Most of it is generated by your browser simply by connecting.
- Guest or account identifier
- When you start a match, VideoMatch gives your browser a guest identity automatically, so there is no sign-up form in the way. If you later sign in with email or a third-party login such as Google, we receive what that login shares — typically your name, email address and profile picture.
- Profile details you choose to add
- Display name, avatar, and any optional details such as date of birth or gender. None of these are required to have a conversation.
- Device and browser data
- Device type, operating system, browser type and device identifiers. We use these to keep calls working across different setups.
- Log data
- Your IP address, access times and system activity, captured in server logs.
- Approximate location
- Worked out from your IP address. We do not ask your device for a precise location.
- Usage data
- Which pages and features you use, how long you stay, and the address that sent you here.
- Messages and support requests
- What you send to other users through the platform, and what you send to us when you ask for help or file a report.
- Purchase details
- When you buy coins or VIP, we keep the transaction details (what, when, order status). Card payments are handled by third-party payment processors; full card numbers are not stored by us.
Camera and microphone access is a permission your browser asks you for on the match screen. You can refuse it or withdraw it at any time in your browser settings; video chat will not work without it.
What we use it for
- Running the service: connecting you to a match, keeping your session alive, and delivering what you paid for.
- Safety: spotting fraud, spam and abuse, handling reports, and enforcing the rules.
- Support: answering you when you write in.
- Fixing and improving things: understanding where the site breaks or where people give up.
- Legal obligations: responding to lawful requests and protecting users and the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your guest identity or account is in use, and for as long as we need it to run the service, settle disputes, enforce our rules and meet legal obligations.
When an account is deleted, we remove or anonymize the personal data tied to it within a reasonable period. Some items, such as transaction details, may be kept longer where tax, legal or regulatory rules require it.
Your rights and how to use them
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
- send your data in a machine-readable format;
- limit how we process your data in certain cases;
- stop sending you marketing messages.
Email [email protected] from the address linked to your account; if you only ever used a guest identity, tell us the browser and device you used. We answer within a reasonable time and as applicable law requires.
Security
Data travels to and from VideoMatch over encrypted connections (TLS), and access to stored data is limited and controlled. No system on the internet is completely secure, though, so do not share passwords or payment details with anyone who contacts you claiming to be us.
Under 18
VideoMatch is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and if we learn that we have, we delete it. If you think a minor is using the site, see our child safety page for how to tell us.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top, and for significant changes we will also give notice on the site. Cookies and browser storage are covered separately in our cookie policy. Questions go to [email protected].
