Child Safety
VideoMatch is an adults-only service. This page explains how we keep minors out, what to do if you meet one, and what happens next.
Effective
Zero tolerance
Nobody under 18 may use VideoMatch. There are no exceptions and no warnings for this one. Any account we believe belongs to a minor is removed, and any account that shares, requests or encourages content sexualizing a minor is removed permanently.
If you think you are talking to a minor
- End the conversation. Do not keep talking to find out.
- Use the report button on the call before you skip, and choose the option that fits best. A report made from the call carries the context our reviewers need.
- If you could not report in time, email [email protected] with the approximate time of the call and anything you remember about the other person's profile.
Do not screenshot or save anything that shows a minor in order to "prove" it. Describe what you saw instead; that is enough for us to act.
What we do with a report
Reports that involve a possible minor are reviewed. When we confirm a problem:
- the account is removed and any personal information we hold from a minor is deleted;
- accounts that tried to exploit or sexualize a minor are closed permanently;
- we keep the information that the law requires us to preserve, and escalate the case to the relevant authorities where the law requires it;
- we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement and regulators.
For parents and guardians
If you believe your child has used VideoMatch, write to [email protected]. Tell us roughly when it happened and on which device or browser; we will look for the account and remove it. You do not need to send photos of your child.
Browser and operating system parental controls can block sites like this one. They are the most reliable safeguard, because they work before a page ever loads.
What the age check can and cannot do
Everyone is asked to confirm they are 18 or older before entering, and our Terms of Service make lying about age grounds for removal. A confirmation screen is not proof of age, though. That is why reports from adult users matter so much, and why we act on them. The broader rules live in our Community Guidelines.
